Mueller Matrix Imaging Optimized by Uniform Illumination

In this study, we present a flat-field Mueller matrix imaging system to reduce the reconstruction error caused by critical illumination. This study demonstrates that signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of reconstructed images is improved about eight times adding beam shaping module made up microlens arrays traditional system. The scalar diffraction theory and polarization numerical simulation show ability new device in minimizing adverse effects light source noise on results. Finally, experiment results standard resolution board, porous anodic alumina, real pathological slices further confirm superiority precisely identifying sample structure quantitative differences between various parameters (depolarization ? , linear retardance ? birefringence orientation ? ), demonstrating potential diagnosis tissue characteristic extraction.
